【摘要】:ThisPublishedDocumentprovidesguidanceonthedevelopment,designandapplicationoffiredetectionsystems,andtheactivationoffirealarmandfirecontrolsystemstofulfilaroleinthefiresafetyengineereddesignforabuilding.Scientificandengineeringprinciplesareusedaspartofastructuredapproach.Thekeyelementscoveredare:—detection:informationisprovidedonthevarioustypesoffiredetectionsystemandtheirapplicationforagivensetofcircumstances,asderivedfromaqualitativedesignreview,riskassessmentandtheresultsofformulaeprovidedbyotherSub-systems;—activationandcontrol:oncethefiredetectionsystemhasdetectedafire,itactivatesaseriesofmeasuresdesignedtofulfiltherequirementsofthefiresafetyengineereddesign.Thesemeasuresmayincludeoperationoffirewarningsystems,theremotesignallingtoemergencyservices,andtheoperationoffirealarm,firesuppressionandfirecontrolsystems.Guidanceisgivenonthemethodologyandformulaerequiredinensuringthattheappropriatesystemsareactivatedinanappropriatemannerandwithingivencriteria.Inthecontextofthisdocument,firecontrolincludes:—firesuppressionsystems:activesystemsdesignedtosuppressafire,temporarily(i.e.control)orpermanently(i.e.extinguish).Examplesincludeautomaticwatersprinklersystems;—firebarriersystems:activesystemsdesignedtocontainafirewithinagivenareaorseparateafirefromanotherarea.Suchsystemsmayberegardedasofferingsimilarbenefitstopassivefirecompartmentsorseparationsforthedurationoftheiroperation.Examplesincludefiredampersystemsanddoorreleasemechanisms;—smoke/heatcontrolsystems:activesystemsdesignedtopositivelycontrolthemovementandbuildupoffireeffluentssuchassmoke,heatandtoxicgases.Examplesincludesmokeventingsystemsandairpressurizationsystems.
