【摘要】:ThistestmethodisintendedtoprovidetheuserwithaproceduretodeterminethefluidityofCLSMmixturesforuseasbackfillorstructuralfill.ThistestmethodisconsideredapplicabletofreshCLSMcontainingonlysandastheaggregateorhavingcoarseaggregatesmallerthan19.0mm(x00BE;in.).Ifthecoarseaggregateislargerthan19.0mm(x00BE;in.),thetestmethodisapplicablewhenitismadeonthefractionofCLSMpassinga19.0mm(x00BE;in.)sieve,withthelargeraggregatebeingremovedinaccordancewiththesectiononAdditionalProceduresforLargeMaximumsizeAggregateConcreteinPracticeC172.Note18212;Removingthecoarseaggregatewillalterthecharacteristicsofthemixandthereforewillgiveinformationonlyabouttheremainingmaterial.Itissuggestedthatformixescontainingcoarseaggregate19.0mm(x00BE;in.)orlarger,ameasurementoftheslumpismoreappropriate.Fornon-flowableCLSM,orformixturesthatdonotcomeoutoftheflowcylindereasily,measuretheslumpasoutlinedinTestMethodC143.ThistestmethodisoneofaseriesofqualitycontrolteststhatcanbeperformedonCLSMduringconstructiontomonitorcompliancewithspecificationrequirements.TheotherteststhatcanbeusedduringconstructioncontrolareTestMethodsD4832,D6023,andD6024.Note28212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1ThistestmethodcoverstheprocedurefordeterminationoftheflowconsistencyoffreshControlledLowStrengthMaterial(CLSM).ThistestmethodappliestoflowableCLSMwithamaximumparticlesizeof19.0mm(3/4in.)sieve.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-poundequivalentsaregivenforinformationonly.1.3CLSMisalsoknownasflowablefill,controlleddensityfill,soil-cementgrout,unshrinkablefill,K-Krete,andothersimilarnames.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
