【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardgivesfunctionalrecommendationsandguidanceonthecalculationmethodforsmokeandheatexhaustventilationsystems(SHEVS)fortime-dependentdesignfires.Avarietyofbuildingtypesisaddressed.Forapre-determinedcriticaltime,thisBritishStandardcanbeusedtodeterminerequiredperformanceofaSHEVSneededtoavoidtheonsetofasignificantdanger.Or,forapre-determinedSHEVS,thisBritishStandardcanbeusedtodeterminethetimeavailablebetweenignitionandonsetofsignificantdanger.ThisBritishStandardusesacceptedandauthoritativemethodstodefinesomedesignparameters,e.g.thetimeneededforsafeevacuationorattendancetimeofthefire-fightingservices.Thisinformationcanbesoughtfromothersourceswhengeneratingtheoverallfire-safetyconceptforaspecificbuildingproject.Manyofthedetailedcalculationprocedures,andmostofthedangercriteriadefiningtheboundarybetweensuccessandfailure,arethesamefortime-dependentdesignfiresasforsteady-statedesignfires,anditisessentialthatthisBritishStandardbeusedinconjunctionwithBS7346-4.
